I see the wall street banker against a musician
I see the men in suits costing more than my rent
I see the ladies taking numbers with no love intent
My daddy told me in this world it's the difference you make
It's about the love that you give not the love that you take

Making something real out of this mess

We got the digital flow coming down a broadband pipe
We go the information highway and the land of hype
We got the overload overlords and the NSA
And the government is watching every move we make
I could say I don't care but it gives me the creeps
How a corporation sells this information on me
It's not like I'm ascetic you know I have my fun
But I'd like to keep it poetic when the justice is done

I get so downhearted with my neighbors today
Feels like the we found the money and got lost along the way
Once we were all little kids trying to do the right thing

We got the shortcut big butt easy access
But are we better off now than generations long ago
Or just chumps in a corporate reality show
